The Society was started in 1995 for the purpose of providing skills training for employment to residents of the Fraser Valley. More than 13 years later, the organization continues to meet that purpose through a variety of services.

The Society is one of the largest providers of employment assistance services in the Fraser Valley.

Career and Employment Zone ~ Langley

The Society offers career decision-making and job search programming in Langley with itinerant services in Aldergrove. These services have been offered since November 2001. These are the largest services in their respective communities and well utilized. Call 604-532-3808 for more information

Express to Success -
Customer Service Youth Skills Link Program

This is a PAID 12-week program for youth ages 15-30 who want to gain knowledge and training to enable them to work in the tourism, retail, hospitality and service industries.

Working Beyond Program - Mission and Abbotsford

In April 2008, Mission Community Skills Centre Society announced a new employment program titled “Working Beyond.” The program has openings for up to 75 unemployed mature workers aged 50-64, who live in the Central Fraser Valley, to assist them to connect to employment and self employment opportunities.

Participants will have their choice between three comprehensive options designed specifically for older workers: “Transition & Leadership Series”, “Transition and Job Placement”, or a “Self Employment & Business Development” option.

The “Working Beyond” employment program will allow some limited financial support to offset living costs and/or training expenses for participants while they transition back to work or start their own businesses.

Through these activities, the Society focuses on enhancing the employability of people.

The Society is also supported by a Board of Directors that ensures all the activities of the centres are focused on meeting our Vision, Values and Mission. The directors are elected at the Annual General Meeting in September each year.
